After clearing the floor, we started tearing the floor to pieces. View the beginnings of what would soon become the utter destruction of thirty square feet of hardwood flooring!
Matt M. came over to help us clear the last bit of it. With the hardwood half of the kitchen floor gone, the plywood half was all that remained!
All that remained of the floor, that is. Cabinets and subfloor issues in the near future! Stay tuned!

Demolition!
Just before Spring Break, we decided to have some friends over and tear open our kitchen. I'll be posting little bits of that process over the next couple of days. First, it was of course necessary to remove the appliances from the kitchen.
See what a good job we did? Otherwise, there'd still have been an oven there!
A few more shots to establish the pre-demolition state.
We soon got well into the dismantling of this hardwood flooring. More pics tomorrow!

Subterranean Slip 'n' Slide
Hi, All,
Recently, I've been spending a great deal of time in the crawlspace. I decided that it finally needed to have some plastic sheeting in there, and it is AMAZING. It makes it about 1000 times more habitable down there. I actually heard yesterday about a man who hand-dug his own basement underneath his house...perhaps that's a project for later on.
And why have I been under the house? I'll tell you that later on, as well.
